Fernando Laguda Bio

Fernando Laguda, a native of the Pacific Islands, began his career in San Diego, California, in 1982, as Circulation Director of Tuned-In Magazine, a TV Guide-type magazine with heavy circulation and wide readership throughout San Diego County. He left the magazine to start a medical supply company in 1984, and in 1988, he negotiated its lucrative sale to a much larger NASDAQ- listed firm, Longport Medical.

Fernando became deeply involved in community services in the San Diego area, receiving commendation from The Honorable Maureen O’Conner, Mayor of San Diego, for his work with San Diego Youth at Risk, a nonprofit organization addressing the needs of “at risk” students.

In 1991, Fernando joined World Class Network, a travel company that marketed products through direct sales and rapidly advanced to National Marketing Director. In 1993, he was recruited by TravelMax International, another travel-related direct sales company, where he built an organization that put him in the top 10 among over 100,000 distributors and earned the position of Presidential Advisory Council. He was also one of only three people at TravelMax to win the coveted Commitment to Excellence award.

From 1995 to 1997, Fernando’s expertise as a marketing, sales and training consultant was sought after by numerous direct sales companies, including NutriQuest and Future Vision. He then was hired as a consultant to increase sales for a distributor of Metabolife, a weight loss company, who had one retail store and a phone center with a volume of less than $100,000 a month. Over a period of seven months, utilizing high-impact radio advertising, designed by Fernando, the distributor opened eight additional Metabolife mall stores, increasing monthly sales to $1.2 million. In 1998, Fernando began developing his own Metabolife business, opening nine retail stores in Nevada, Ohio, and Kentucky. The stores collectively yielded $2.5 million in sales during the first twelve months of operation. His teamwork principles, duplicable system and aggressive radio campaign helped Metabolife grow from $600,000 to over $1 billion in annual sales in just 4 years. Fernando pioneered the combination of direct sales and traditional marketing to explode Metabolife sales to the fastest growing direct sales company of its time. In 2000, he sold his interest in the Metabolife stores. Fernando then became the National Sales Director for Boo Koo and Pure Power energy drinks in which he set up distribution channels nationwide, capturing the number 5 spot in sales volume in the southwest 7-11 convenience stores.

Starting as a hobby in 1999, Fernando produced, promoted and emceed Hawaiian Tropic Model search competition. Leveraging his experience in radio promotions and copywriting, he was in charge of sourcing venues, recruiting models, negotiating contracts, and developing marketing strategies to increase results. He quickly found success in several markets, including Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth. He produced over 300 beauty pageants, including Super Bowl Hawaiian Tropic, provided models for the Maxim Magazine Super Bowl Parties, and helped manage 30,000 attendees at a 3-day event with 52 rock bands at the North Texas Rock Rally.

Fernando broke a record in the direct sales industry, in 2013, by personally sponsoring a sales team of over 160,000 in less than 3 months. Just for fun, in 2015, Fernando co-founded the Underground Battle (UGB) Mix Martial Arts league. To date, UGB has produced 13 major events and 28 episodes on Pinoy Extreme Cable Channel, gaining international exposure and national television distribution as the fastest growing MMA league in the Philippines.
In 2016, Fernando became the Founder and CEO of SocialWebsitePros (SWPros), a direct sales web development and software company that has set industry records. And, in June, 2016, he set a new record for developing a team of 125,000 in 10 days, over 258,000 on 10 levels and over 1.6 million (8 months) in the total tree. This was accomplished with an international sales and marketing system that utilized social media, blogs and videos that were developed by his company SocialWebsitePros.

In his spare time, Fernando enjoys fishing, speed boating, dancing and traveling.
